First Blog Assignment

After doing the reading for 7 September, begin to post responses to the readings. You should try to address one or more of the following questions:

• From your perspective, what is the current position of the Humanities, and how is it likely to change under the influence of technology?
• Whose views of the Humanities resonate with you the most?
• In what ways is the split between the cultures of science and the Humanities justified or not justified?
• Do you believe that we have moved beyond the two cultures?

Your posts should be at least a paragraph long, and longer than 140 characters. You may post more than once. However, use the comments if your second post is on the same subject as the first. Do the reading well in advance and check the web site regularly for posts. The aim is to get a number of posts and discussion (through comments) prior to our meeting on 7 September. So remember that the deadline for doing your work is earlier than the next class date.
