Now choose one of the following images of Shakespeare’s Sonnet 18:
Source: Shakespeare’s English
Source: How to Write a Sonnet
Copy the text you see in the image into a web page. Your final product should do the following:
- Contain a complete text of the sonnet.
- Format the text in such a way that it is clear what editorial interventions (interpretations or aids for readers) contribute to the meaning of the complete digital text you have produced.
- Contain ways of representing the text or interpretations of the text are enabled by creation of the text in HTML, rather than print.
- Have a paragraph below the text discussing what you would like to do for items 2 and 3 above but do not yet have the knowledge to accomplish.
Save the web page and bring it with you to class. If you have a laptop, you may save it on your hard drive. If you will be using a lab computer, you may save it on a flash drive or e-mail it to yourself and then download it when you get to campus.
