Ok, everything that I just posted was lost so I am just going to do a quick recap. I can’t believe this!

I want to use Divitext and the program which creates colored flowers based off of word associations to compare texts from various areas. Examples: modernists works from the United States and France.

By looking at word choice and themes within each individual text and them comparing them to each other I feel that a more in depth analysis can be reached. I think that these methods can demonstrate connections among literary works that are able to surpass geographical, cultural, and ideological borders wherein the sense of immediacy is diminished and the works can be placed within a larger social totality.

One issue that I think will affect the data in a negative way would be translating the work into a language that I can work in. When an item is translated the original meaning alters form, thereby undermining the foundation which the text was built upon as well as changing the context. This might form false connections that are not really as strong as one would see if comparing texts in their original form.

Despite this issue, using divitext and the petal flowers (not sure what the actual program is called) can be useful in expanding current thought and maybe even theory regarding specific works from certain movements and regions.
